Nathan</u><br />
<br />
On this day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, all those who side with me and choose to give Thanksgiving it's rightful glory, put their Christmas decorations up today (I will not pretend and hide my bitterness for the commercial world that tries to overlook the greatness that is Thanksgiving...boo hisss!) I am so thankful for my dear sweet, wonderful husband, a.k.a. the Anti-Decorator. This means that anything remotely seasonal is HUGE. The downfall, is that any small tree besides the actual Christmas tree decoratively placed around the house is TOOOO much. I bet if I asked now, he would whip out some bag/box/large container and be ready to take any other decor resembling the shape of a Christmas tree straight to the nearest Salvation Army (He knows I would be so angry if he burned it b/c someone else wouldn't be able to enjoy the Christmas Cheer!) I love him for this quality though, because I will never disappoint him with my decoration skills...and I love to see how irritated he gets when there's another mini Christmas tree each year. He's so cute when he's irritated.<br />
<br />
<u>Day 29: Austin & Madison</u><br />
<br />
These two wonderful, dear sweet children deleted all the data on my phone Friday night before bed. This taught be a few great lessons.<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>Don't leave my phone in their reach.</li>
<li>Back up pictures and music on your phone to your computer...especially when you have a newborn and you primarily take most of your pictures with your phone.</li>
<li>DON'T PUT SO MUCH HEART AND SOUL INTO THAT THING THAT IS YOUR PHONE. It can disappear at any point. Humbling really...</li>
</ol>
<br />
<br />
<u>Day 30: WILD GINGER</u><br />
<br />
It's happening! I'm doing it! I'm going Blog-stal....Postal + Blogger! (or should it be Pogger...) Yeah, I just made that up, but still! Check it out! I am combining my blog and my business, and I'm making it bigger. I've decided that if I really want to take steps toward being a stay-at-home mom, I have to take this HUGE step! <br />
<br />

<br />
Day 22: Light bulbs...<br />
There was one out above my kitchen sink that I changed this morning, and now the one is out at my best side table.
I feel so in the dark. *ba dum chh* That was totally my father, no but really. You never really appreciate something
until it's gone.<br />
<br />
Day 23: Wordpress and .css generators *TEASER!*<br />
Don't ask. But wait in severe anticipation for Dec. 1! It will be big!<br />
<br />
Day 24: Paychecks<br />
Similarly to Day 22, absence makes the heart grow fonder.<br />
<br />
Day 25: Food<br />
I know that seems so general, but my thanks is pretty general. I like cooking it...eating it, growing it, eating it,
eating it...<br />
<br />
Day 26: Vacation
5 days! I get 5 days!<br />
<br />
Day 27: The Candids<br />
I find that some of the pictures that mean the most to me are the ones that i didn't take. Usually, I go pick up my phone
and find that Rue got a hold of it...That's how I got this one...<br />

<br />
I still cry when I see. What a funny kid. Man!<br />
<br />
Today my sister-in-law was taking pictures while I was in the kitchen. Tonight when I was debriefing from the day (i.e.
eating extra dessert after everyone was gone and watching endless episodes of Gilmore Girls (I'm on Season 4)), I flipped
through on my camera and just sat and smiled and giggled. When did my Ruthie May become a little girl? Someone...anyone...
please tell me!<br />
<br />
Here, you look!<br />

They are my dream girls! There are only two other people that are up there with this much love...the first because He kind of created all of it, and the other man was a major part in created the first two. (Too much?)<br />
<br />
I hope you and your fam had a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and family drama aside, it was filled with people you love
surrounding you.<br />
<br />
Ok...yes...now Christmas can commonsense. I know the entire world was just holding her breath waiting for me to give the ok.
It's ok everyone. I'll blog more about this one later with LOTS of details, but on the night of the 15th, I sat down at the kitchen table with my meal plans from emails and my thanksgiving plans, wrote out my shopping list for the rest of the month, and now, I know exactly what food is and that we have what we need for every night until Dec. 1!</div>

<br />
<u>Day 7: Chalkboard Paint</u><br />
<br />
Yes, i am thankful for chalkboard paint. It's easy artwork for the walls that can change...and i love change...i thrive off of change...<br />

<br />
<br />
I make this Thursday night. Ruthie already is in the habit of taking her shoes off and hanging her coat up right when she walks in. AWESOME!<br />
<br />
<u>Day 8: No pants Saturdays</u><br />
<br />
Shortly after Nathan and I got married, I was introduced to this...and it's everything it's cracked up to be (no pun intended). It is sometimes literal, yes...(if it's T.M.I. sorry), but it's more so the idea that we got nothin' to do and MAN am i thankful for THOSE Saturdays. I don't believe one is in our future again for a very long time.<br />
<br />
<u>Day 9: Mom</u><br />
<br />
It's Mom's birthday today! She's turning.....drum roll please.....into an even younger looking person than she looked last year! *psh...I'm no dumbie.*<br />
<br />
10 Reason's I'm Thankful for my mom in just this Past Month<br />
<br />
<ol>
<li>She came over and helped me clean up my house.</li>
<li>She helps watch the girls every Wednesday so I can be a part of the church Christmas Choir.</li>
<li>She offered to take the girls while Nathan and I go on vacation in December.</li>
<li>She made a valiant effort along with Dad to come to Nathan's football games.</li>
<li>She went on the Spoon River Drive with Brittany and I ...and Tes and Bells.</li>
<li>She encouraged me on my Apple week blog post.</li>
<li>She watched the girls last weekend and church while I had to be at a meeting and so Nathan could hunt. </li>
<li>She's committed to helping paint my kitchen cabinets when I finally get the go ahead from my darling husband to do so.</li>
<li>She is letting me host Thanksgiving.</li>
<li>She still gives me hugs and kisses everything I see her!</li>
</ol>

I'm not sure if anyone really appreciates mascara more than a blond-eyelashes girl. Yes, yes...this may seem silly to a brunette or one with dark features, but to a ginger or toe blonde, MAN the power of mascara is almost a crutch. <br />

Oh, sweet cheese, the SMILES! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

It's November which means..... TIME FOR THE <b>"THANKFUL PROJECT!"</b> My theme this year is, "The Little Things." </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I want you to know that I purposefully didn't post yesterday, because I was waiting for the outcome of Nathan's football game. So, now that I know they lost, I can say for November 1, I'm so thankful football is OVER! I'm so grateful for football and we love the games and the coaches and families....BUT THANK YOU SWEET JESUS we are done!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
November 2: I am thankful for the Gilmore Girls. With normal television shows you go comatose and just stare. With GG, you have to concentrate sooo hard...they talk sooooo fast. I've started Season One and Ashley has them all. Trying to guess how long this will take me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><u>Insta-Funday Sunday</u></b>: My weekly review in pictures... here goes...</div>

I like subtle ideas that you almost have to do a double-take before you realize it's Halloween. <br />
<br />
I also have to be able to do them, so they have to be fairly simple. Now, did I do any of these this year? Ummm... no. I handed my trick-or-treaters fruit snacks, granola bars and bags of chips last night because i forgot candy for that whole day-before thing is our small towns. <br />
<br />
So, here goes....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>1. Window Spider Web</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
...that's electrical tape...awesome. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
...now I just think this is funny! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>3. Swarm of Bats</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I think this just looks brilliant. Construction paper and tape. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>4. Aged/Bloody Mirror</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would probably avoid the blood. That's saran wrap and black paint. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>5. Pumpkin Mouse House</b></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now, If I saw this, I would probably need to go change my pants. Thus the reason I feel it would be an ideal Halloween Pumpkin on my porch. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So I've been feeling realllly discourages...like boarder line depressed. (Yeah, I'll be transparent.) Ruthie is all in on the "terrible twos." There's nothing stopping her. Tess is officially out of the newborn "sleep all the time" stage and is in the coo-ing and "look how cute I am/talk to me" stage. <br />
<br />
Those two stages mixed together + dirty house + football coach husband + LOTS o' laundry + work + *enter whatever else you want here* = the guilty failure feeling of a mother that I have become.<br />
<br />
Now I know I'm not a failure, but the guilt that I was feeling of being a working mom and not taking care of my own children (Julie, I love you...I couldn't ask for a better sitter) was laid on thick. AND, I was getting anxious and upset about my dirty house, so I hired a cleaning lady (Heather, you're my hero). Those combined have been tearing me apart. Like I was incapable of being a mom/wife. And icing on the cake was that Nathan hasn't really been home at all with football practices and games. We agreed to it, so I'm not upset with him, but it adds, ya know...<br />
<br />
So, Ashley (aka Ashes aka Sister in Law) asked if we wanted to go to Tanners Apple Orchard here near us and I thought it was perfect. Ruthie is at the perfect age where she will enjoy the animals and Tess is still at the "take me anywhere as long as I'm strapped into the Moby and warm" stage...(wow, I didn't know until I starting typing how many stages there are:). <br />
<br />
So here are some of our favoritest pictures from the festivities.<br />
<br />

God Bless this WONDERFUL tool! I can peel and core 8 apples in 5 minutes! I used 8 golden delicious apples, but it's recomended that you use Granny Smiths and Fujis for their tartness. My pies will definitely not be short on sweetness. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2Vf484qOkOUs1FeAdp4OnIXwr5M4VkHCYOezqnEhnqYaxDpZLEWdISh1reA_btJqNfHrT0tBUWoVBTNucBsLdYS28v0d1k53lRK-aQJXVlTmxWH24lX3ewXno7pMOYLsfe4XSMV-m03RB/s1600/DSC_0155+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2Vf484qOkOUs1FeAdp4OnIXwr5M4VkHCYOezqnEhnqYaxDpZLEWdISh1reA_btJqNfHrT0tBUWoVBTNucBsLdYS28v0d1k53lRK-aQJXVlTmxWH24lX3ewXno7pMOYLsfe4XSMV-m03RB/s1600/DSC_0155+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And it makes the PERFECT size apples! I then added 4 T of flour, 3/4 c. brown sugar, 2 T lemon juice, 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and about 1/8 tsp of salt. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo2SYguyXTSrmy061LBkjzY3IAbpDRoAQKkQdpTCwxve36b_FzpFtjN37OBgVO8Mh_J23BdnrClIGsNmlOgomtG06T8Qkw8VyPzmW6Mt_DF4wqxLQFhKnlXwW2Nh5LOVs16kr4Xq4HsvXd/s1600/DSC_0159+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgo2SYguyXTSrmy061LBkjzY3IAbpDRoAQKkQdpTCwxve36b_FzpFtjN37OBgVO8Mh_J23BdnrClIGsNmlOgomtG06T8Qkw8VyPzmW6Mt_DF4wqxLQFhKnlXwW2Nh5LOVs16kr4Xq4HsvXd/s1600/DSC_0159+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
NOTE: Don't throw these away immediately. You will need something to snack on after you're famished from putting the pies together, and something to feed your daughter when she comes in a million times asking, "What you do-een, Mommy?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Yes, I cheated and used frozen pie crust. Maybe when I have a four year old, I'll make my own again, but not happening tonight. I dished 2/3 of the apples into the pie crust making the middle a little taller. I cut up 3 T of real butter and randomly placed them over the apples. Then, in another bowl, I cut together, 1/4 c. brown sugar, 1/8 c. white sugar, 1/4 c. flour, about 1/8 c. rolled oats, 1/8 c. chopped pecans and 1/4 tsp of cinnamon with 3 T of butter. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpJhJmjkpfbTVPa50btAqhLODvJCRI8x0lVdcRQv4bsb3POrCW4lGQjIiN7d2gOinmqmDsp_p-anb1x4mPKSxrbXclbLKhymU_BwN-zfqxWn1zhVw-p8BxCJgLfcSKXV7QUqiAPuk1AyJi/s1600/DSC_0162+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpJhJmjkpfbTVPa50btAqhLODvJCRI8x0lVdcRQv4bsb3POrCW4lGQjIiN7d2gOinmqmDsp_p-anb1x4mPKSxrbXclbLKhymU_BwN-zfqxWn1zhVw-p8BxCJgLfcSKXV7QUqiAPuk1AyJi/s1600/DSC_0162+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then I evenly distributed it across the top of the pie and placed in a preheated oven at 425 degrees for 10 min. Then, I knocked the temp down to 350 and finished it out for another 35 minutes. If you notice the crust getting too brown, take it out and lightly cover it with foil. Works like a champ.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-Y71IrCxCM3kFADWv_r9Xxa7QcygXOf7msi0QX7OE-RNGgK5tFiFYsl9ZhjjdMNRnvh9E37wK1flsiQCNQRlh0whimiuzj8pJLlYLrkGHvnIneOtAPMhuthf4rnHamqXAQq66MDuu5Ho/s1600/DSC_0164+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjP-Y71IrCxCM3kFADWv_r9Xxa7QcygXOf7msi0QX7OE-RNGgK5tFiFYsl9ZhjjdMNRnvh9E37wK1flsiQCNQRlh0whimiuzj8pJLlYLrkGHvnIneOtAPMhuthf4rnHamqXAQq66MDuu5Ho/s1600/DSC_0164+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then, I had one extra dough roll and about 3 c. of apples. Easy solution...Ree makes these Flat Apple Pies that are soooo easy and very portable if you need them on the go. I opened up the dough on my pizza stone (i use it for WAY more than just pizza) and rolled it out so I could get an extra few inches on each side. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWosFcifdWMbDteMfPgc75sWCr616yLja8xh00tU9yhk2gLRBx5YpC8ZmJ6JbMJC6pS07Rjt7576Hoh5dz-nJeT6UMsrys77UNIyfDl5CtZYbfSK1-OJ3-YYz_wd5fzLE7hQhexvzn9g9k/s1600/DSC_0166+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWosFcifdWMbDteMfPgc75sWCr616yLja8xh00tU9yhk2gLRBx5YpC8ZmJ6JbMJC6pS07Rjt7576Hoh5dz-nJeT6UMsrys77UNIyfDl5CtZYbfSK1-OJ3-YYz_wd5fzLE7hQhexvzn9g9k/s1600/DSC_0166+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then i put the rest of the apples in the center, put 4-5 one inch cubes of butter over the apples and starting folding up the sides over the apples. It doesnt have to look pretty, It looks so rustic and yummy and home made looking! </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbmWquU-ldRexJxJGxCHmyHyHyjbIy0-bKG2PmPbC3MlDCeS56Is_RwG0uprj97Q_n_w60hKlgZm_Bd4CYbNok7WoEGNGIPh_DDK59ymetYVkpO7WyJRVPzrcFjwxr9DHt_fmSCS_7sTxn/s1600/DSC_0167+(1024x681).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbmWquU-ldRexJxJGxCHmyHyHyjbIy0-bKG2PmPbC3MlDCeS56Is_RwG0uprj97Q_n_w60hKlgZm_Bd4CYbNok7WoEGNGIPh_DDK59ymetYVkpO7WyJRVPzrcFjwxr9DHt_fmSCS_7sTxn/s1600/DSC_0167+(1024x681).jpg" height="320" width="319" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Then, I just put it in the oven. It cooked at 375 for about 30 minutes. Basically, you just cook it to the doneness of the color of the crust you like. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
HERE ARE MY FINAL PRODUCTS!</div>

Normally we sell them in quarters, halves & whole cows (rarely). This time we butchered a whole cow and are selling it in cuts that people want. <br />

Ever wanted to know how much freezer space a whole cow takes up?? A LOT!!!</div>
<br />
<br />
Now, about our cows, you've met Ginger. Yeah, well, she's come and gone. But we buy our cows about 1 year old or so and we set them out to pasture. Then they get to about the size we want them, we finish them with corn, hay & gluten. Gluten is a corn byproduct...not the stuff that people are allergic to, but something that's apart of corn when it's broken down for other things. Cows think it's candy and eat it like crazy. Gives 'em the chubs. <br />
<br />
So here's the deal...would you like to buy some beef?!?! Below I'm gonna list the cuts & the per pound pricing. Then you can fb, call me or nate or contact me any other way and you can get some BEEEEEF!!!<br />
<br />
Ok, here we go...<br />
- Round Steak- $6.50/lb<br />
-T-Bone Steak- $10/lb<br />
-Ribeye Steak- $10.90/lb<br />
-Rolled Rump Roast- $6/lb<br />
-Chuck Roast- $6.40/lb<br />
-Sirloin Tip Roast- $7/lb<br />
-Arm Roast- $6.50/lb<br />
-Short Ribs- $4/lb<br />
-Stew Meat- $6.70/lb<br />
-Beef for Swissing- $5.50/lb<br />
-Brisket- $7.50/lb<br />
-Flank- $7.50/lb<br />
-Skirt Steak- $7/lb<br />
-Filet- $17/lb<br />
-Ground Beef- $4/lb (we have over 100lb of this so buy as much as you want!)<br />
<br />
**Prices set off of USDA weekly beef retail activity & a trip to wal-mart to see their prices. These prices are good for this cow. They may change when next cow is butchered**<br />
<br />
If you are interested in any of the organ meat (i get queezy thinking about it) -- heart, liver, tongue, oxtail -- let me know and we can chat about it. <br />
<br />
Otherwise, look forward to hearing from your,<br />
Sincerely,<br />

So, I've decided I would try my hand at a VERY amateur food blog here. (If I want to be the Midwest version of the Pioneer Woman i best get better at these.) It was just soooo good, I couldn't not share! <br />
<br />
And it's sooo healthy, and I really need healthy options to get back to my former hot bod...<br />
<br />
To dedicate long periods of time to boiling/watching something on the stove is next to impossible with the girls, but I love quinoa and wheat berry and other grains so I found these Betty Crocker Suddenly Salad grain salads. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://savvysavingcouple.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Suddenly-Salad-Grain-Salads-.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://savvysavingcouple.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Suddenly-Salad-Grain-Salads-.jpg" height="201" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
There are three different flavors and I have fallen for these two: <br />
The Harvest Grain Salad & the Tuscan Grain Salad. <br />
<br />
The Harvest Grain is a sweeter salad...the reason why I like it. It has an apple cider vinegar flavored dressing and a garnish of dried cranberries & slivered almonds. I may or may not have sat down and eaten the whole box. Maybe, I don't know. <br />
<br />
Today I made the Tuscan Grain. The dressing over the grains was more of a sun dried tomato flavor. I was feeling saucy so I added some extras; I had some zucchini & tomatoes from the garden (I normally don't like tomatoes but these little suckers from my garden are soo sweet!) and then I shaved some Parmesan cheese over the top. <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWFwRsqWm8P9BtMnwEQwbTKigAFAu968LMUfTOD5DXnimOfBbjlZAlnFIECI9pkSFwenPGy9fONSwgMMZQsfFoNzdyKPcMWXky1i5sb1ZTm1-sFy9zUpITXkZxY2NQkOwYT0i_c2BcnL-Y/s1600/IMAG0266.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWFwRsqWm8P9BtMnwEQwbTKigAFAu968LMUfTOD5DXnimOfBbjlZAlnFIECI9pkSFwenPGy9fONSwgMMZQsfFoNzdyKPcMWXky1i5sb1ZTm1-sFy9zUpITXkZxY2NQkOwYT0i_c2BcnL-Y/s1600/IMAG0266.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: start;">They provided slivered almonds for this as well. It ended up looking awesome! So colorful!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4BSEQ9-s1EWAZO05zFu3rq6VBckefsTWbpDcqr-QgkFcfAbBsctxgXPmGVV4BY9tUKxBossSkzURTc-sZkE24JL5cu37NUFAXdII6M85EziTE2yW70C6-K49be0AU0oLt-6LbD7-WjAKA/s1600/IMAG0267.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4BSEQ9-s1EWAZO05zFu3rq6VBckefsTWbpDcqr-QgkFcfAbBsctxgXPmGVV4BY9tUKxBossSkzURTc-sZkE24JL5cu37NUFAXdII6M85EziTE2yW70C6-K49be0AU0oLt-6LbD7-WjAKA/s1600/IMAG0267.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They suggested other add-ins as well like chic peas, feta cheese, grilled chicken, etc. For the sweeter Harvest grain they suggested fresh apples or pears. I would add a bleu cheese or something like that. Everything is better with cheese...I mean let's get real. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
To recreate these would be a total sinch with the time. It was quinoa, wheat berry and brown rice. And the dressings were oil and vingar based. With the sweet one, add apple cider vinager with EVOO and seasonings. The Tuscan was pure`d sun dried tomatoes, lemon juice, italian herbs and EVOO. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They held up well in the fridge (leave the almonds off and add when you eat). The protion was also perfect because Nathan's not going to eat this...let's get serious. So there was enough for two lunch and one dinner portion. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hope you ENJOY! I sure did. </div>

Yes! That’s right! She’s 1 month old. Already.
I know. </div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
I’m sorry I made no
formal introduction for her. So here’s a
bulleted list of all her wonderfulness:</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<ul>
<li>She was born July 13, 2014 – planned C-section</li>
<li>She
arrived at 2:12pm; 6 lb 13 oz. and 19 inches long.</li>
<li>The day was surreal. I got up took a shower, got ready, took the
dogs for a walk, we left for the hospital, made a few errands, and arrived and
sat down in a room. I changed my
clothes, talked to a few people, they put an IV in my hand & then I headed
into the operating room for the C-Section.We stayed in the hospital 3
days. She slept in the room next to my
bed every night AND I LOVED IT! </li>
<li>Ruthie
calls her “Baby Bessa.” She gives her
kisses and really awkward hugs and makes it her purpose to make sure Tess’s
passie is always in. </li>
<li>We call her our little piggy. She was below her
birth weight for only 3 days. I’m almost
positive she’s above 8 pounds already. Maybe I'm just used to small babies, but I still think she's eating LOTS.</li>
<li>She
has the most active hands and generally doesn't enjoy being swaddled or
confined. Her hands are usually up by
her eyes or face.</li>
<li>She’s just about as laid back as Ruthie. We are already up to a 6-hour stretch of
sleep at night. For a month old, I’m
stoked! </li>

We were at the doctor yesterday and
she is perfectly healthy. We weighs a
whopping 23 lbs. I know a hand-full of
kids under the age of 1 that weigh more than her, so I giggle when I hear her
weight. She’s loving this “big sister”
thing. Her bulleted list (seems only
fair):</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
</div>
<ul>
<li>She watches Frozen AT LEAST once a day. </li>
<li>If you want to be her BEST
FRIEND, all you have to do is blow bubbles with her. </li>
<li>We were sitting in the drs
office yesterday, and she was talking about everyone she knew, and Mickey &
Pluto, and how the bubbles tickled Daisy (don’t worry…Mickey Mouse Club House)
and the dr looked at me, “Does she always talk like this??” I replied, “All day long…” She laughed and commented that she is the
most independent yet competent 2-year old she’s seen in a while. I took it as a compliment. </li>
<li>She’s just now getting into 18 mo
clothing. I’m pretty much loving
this! Her wardrobe is lasting twice as
long.</li>
<li>She slept in her big girl bed for her nap today for the first time! AWESOME!</li>
</ul>
I took my first Mom’s Morning out this AM.
Thanks to Kayli and her sisters, they watched the girls while I took a
much needed break and ran errands by myself.
Generally, it was just nice to have conversations with someone older than
2. I ran into my friend, Laura, at HyVee
and she was saying how everything gets done so much quicker without the kids…I
laughed and said, "You bet!” Then I
realized I was late, and I actually took longer, because I had a chance to look
at everything and not forget anything on my list.<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
We’ve had a few scary moments. On Tuesday, the dogs ran away for about an
hour. We were on a walk. Note to self: Don’t text & walk. Yeah…pretty bad. Ruthie almost picked Tessa up the other day to put h<span style="text-align: center;">er in her baby doll’s pack n
play. That was scary at the time, but
humorous later. I’m getting anxious
about going back to work. The mornings
getting ready is going to be CRAZY! But
we’ll figure it out….we have to. </span></div>

<span style="text-align: center;">Lastly, if I don't update for an extended period of time again I'm sorry. As of Monday, I have become a football widow again. I'll do my best, but no promises. I have TONS of great blog ideas...we'll just see if they make it on here. </span></div>

<br />
Am I ready? Well...yes. Not for the needles and the pain and all that stuff, but for Tessa's arrival I was ready 9 months ago. It's that whole forget the pain for the purpose. <br />
<br />
This is soooo polar opposite from last time! I was so NOT prepared, but this time, I have the bags packed, the house is clean...for the most part...Ruthie's partying with Gigi & Papa Mark, I'm going to wake up and take a nice shower and get ready...It's crazy. I think I love it. The only downside is that I have all of tonight to anticipate (aka not sleep well) the surgery. <br />
<br />
So, say a little prayer for us if you would tomorrow. <br />
<br />
To Tessa, I can't stinkin' wait to meet you. God has created you to by our daughter and I am so ready to find out why. If something happens to me tomorrow, all these people will raise you right and teach you about a Savior that loves you more than me, and that's ALOT! But it won't. I'm going to be there to hold you (not first...that will be your dad) and kiss you and love on you like CRAZY!<br />
<br />
Stay posted...we'll have pictures up soon...<br />
<br />
To everyone else... thanks for your prayers. We feel them already. *hug*<br />

<br /></div>
It's a good thing that my child can't talk more than she does, because today if she would have asked for ANYTHING, i would have given it to her. Today is Ruthie's last full day home with me as an only child. She leaves in the morning with her Nana and Gampa Wineinger for the Church family mission trip, comes home late Friday afternoon and then goes with Gigi and Papa Mark Saturday to spend the night before Tess's delivery on Sunday. <br />
<br />
This week will be so valuable getting TONS of stuff done around here, but HOLY MOMMY am I gonna miss her! You know those annoying baby talk telephone conversations parents have with their toddlers? I'm gonna be all over those this week. I'm gonna make her sing me the the ABCs, Jesus Loves Me, Bushel & Peck, all those! <br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhREJKuJ_NBqdZnBPjlOxAMJuKweH-l0_DcpdT4UU0asRq5Gf3jI-5pimjZBbYULO-TTR8xPKrINKCXguur9e5EhIag90GI9lhATSS2JUrlyk1KnEDsyOBblzgox-_RglF70lDJ0KbvRlgf/s1600/IMAG0050.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhREJKuJ_NBqdZnBPjlOxAMJuKweH-l0_DcpdT4UU0asRq5Gf3jI-5pimjZBbYULO-TTR8xPKrINKCXguur9e5EhIag90GI9lhATSS2JUrlyk1KnEDsyOBblzgox-_RglF70lDJ0KbvRlgf/s1600/IMAG0050.jpg" height="320" width="225" /></a>I may have spoiled her a little today...I gave her a fruit by the foot after breakfast, we watch at least 10 episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, we met Daddy for lunch and ate pizza and I'm weird about her and ice, but i watched her like a hawk and we ate ice nuggets which was a HUGE treat that she LOVED. Then, we came home and I gave her like 4 cookies, then we napped and went out to dinner with family. We came home, watched Caillou and then I let her sing me all her songs as she stood in her crib procrastinating bedtime as I shed a few tears and gave her tons of kisses.<br />
<br />
But she's going to have tons more blessings having a sister than being an only child...I just have to remember that. No offense to the only children out there...<br />
<br />
<br />
It's also mind blowing to think Tess will be here in 8 days...like single digits...What? At the doc yesterday, she is about what they expect her to be size-wise and weighs 6 lbs 2 oz. She's moving like a crazy amazon woman. Oh, I experienced my first contraction ever yesterday morning! Praise God I got to bypass those the first time. <i>Shoot! </i>And to think they only get more painful. I chuckle inside thinking about that big sis picture where Tess will be laying on Rue's lap with one of us helping her, and Tess is going to be HUGE, like 1/2 her size. <br />
<br />
They'll be in the same size clothes in a a year...I'm calling it! <br />
Ok, off to go wallow in my "did we have enough fun today?" pool of pity. <br />
<br />
over-emotional, very pregger, heartburn central, & VERY<br />

I never had this before, and it happened this week...like BAAAAM! <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://img1.etsystatic.com/009/0/6736503/il_570xN.458990945_ckis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" src="http://img1.etsystatic.com/009/0/6736503/il_570xN.458990945_ckis.jpg" height="226" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I've been looking at some things to do while feeling the nesting bug, but i should prob stop because they're adding to my list of things to get done:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Pad the Pantry- snacks, soups for casseroles, pasta, staples...DONE</li>
<li>Cook in quantity- when browning hamburger, thaw 2 lb and brown one for later and stick it in the freezer, grill extra chicken and put in freezer, make twice the pasta cassaroles and store, etc...NEED TO DO</li>
<li> Wash the Other stuff- Duvey covers, curtains, spare sets of sheets, blankets, anything that needs to be washed... DOING</li>
<li>Deep Clean- blinds, windows, registers, wipe down chairs, clean the car REALLY well...NEED TO DO!</li>
<li>(I don't know about this one) Finish your birth announcements on all but pictures and stats so that all the printer needs in numbers. Address your envelopes and get them ready....We'll see.</li>
<li> The Hospital bag- this would have been helpful with Ruthie. This is its own blog post about the do's and dont's of the hospital bag, but needless to say, I need to do it. </li>
<li>Stay ahead of bills- *if Tes arrives when she's supposed to* I will be in the hospital over a "Bills Due" date. </li>
</ul>
<br />
So now you see where my head is right now...how is it that pregger brain has the ability to forget EVERYTHING, and yet thing of ALL this STUFF that has to happen?!?!<br />
<br />
Sunday night/Monday morning, 2am actually, i was overwhelmed with EVERYTHING that needed to happen by July. i.e. a banister so that my children don't plummet to their death down the stairs...cleaning junk out, my last blog post which was getting rid of TONS of stuff. Monday was that day. By the end of the day, I couldn't move anything but the smile on my face when i had taken TWO carloads to salvation army, filled all our giant trash cans outside, had a burn pile ready, and laundry loads left were in the single digits. I felt accomplished...<br />
<br />
Is that even nesting? Or just me freaking out that I'm behind, b/c Wednesday was the start of my third trimester, and I am feeling every day of it! <br />
<br />
My mom-in-law wanted to throw me a "Sprinkle" or a diaper shower, or something for the arrival of Miss Tes, but I have been is such freak out mode of what needs to get done, we have turned that day into a "Spackle" instead of a "Sprinkle." We are inviting people to come over that day and DO WORK in exchange for an awesome cook out that I'm throwing afterward to thank EVERYONE for their help. It will feel soooo good to have some of this stuff done. <br />
<br />
A Few Planned Projects:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Banister @ the top of the steps</li>
<li>Wood floor the kitchen and dining room</li>
<li>put together and get Ruthie transitioned into a new room</li>
<li>Revamp nursery for Tes</li>
<li>Organize clothes by size</li>
<li>Paint/put together some furniture</li>
</ul>
<div>
There's a few things I'm forgetting, but by July, they will be monumental! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Right now, this calm Sunday afternoon, i am debating between sleep of working...I know what will win, but i feel that Nesting-ness pulling hard....but this bed feels soooo good...<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The Winey Wifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02059416536247690242noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4692563912951600041.post-61518307911059927772014-04-11T09:05:00.000-07:002014-04-13T14:09:24.595-07:00Spring Cleaning...TAKE IT!!!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So, I've begun spring cleaning/nesting/GET THIS STUFF OUT OF MY HOUSE-ing! Nathan had a dump trailer at the house a few weeks ago, and i just pointed and he took. If it was his choice, he would have just burned all this stuff, but I know some people might want it, and it was given to me, so I want to make sure it gets up-cycled!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
If you see it and want it, leave a comment, or tell me on FB! I will either do my best to bring it to you, or set up a time where we can make the exchange. Obviously the sooner the better! And I will travel :) </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
**Please, PLEASE don't be offended if you gave me some of this stuff, and now I'm giving it away...It has served its purposes in the many houses I've been in, I'm just at a place in life & home where i need the space.** </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="MsoNormal">
I became a part of the Dunlap Community in November of 2012
when I became the secretary for the Athletic Director here at the high
school. I took the job because of a few
things…a dear family friend’s son was drowning in his job, I had the skills necessary
for the job and I had a baby and the opportunity to stay home in the summers. I also LOVE high school students. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I got introduced to school district politics very early on
seeing as how I was a district employee surrounded by school employees. Yes, I mainly work with the high school
coordinating the 16 sports here, but I also have a little finger in each of the
5 grade schools and 2 middle schools so to speak. I also became good friends with many of the
teachers (i.e. teachers’ union), so I began hearing about contracts and
agreements, etc. I’m not even going to
kind of admit that I understand any of that stuff, but I get the reason why it’s
in place and I understand some of its perks and slumps. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Now, one doesn’t have to try too hard to avoid in the news
that Dunlap is struggling…which many people view as odd, b/c we are one of the
more “well-off” districts around Peoria, but all’s the same we have a spending
problem. From what I understand of the
mess, next year, Dunlap is projected to have a deficit of $2.1 million, so the
school board is working to lower/eliminate this deficit. Now, as
a state school district, we have a reserve that was created to assistant in
many ways, this being one of them, but the School Board is in the mind set, and
I semi get this, that this will be a pattern and that reserve will be eaten away
over time. *My Opinion* It appears that
our school district is being run like a business and not a school district and
this is very apparent in who they have in the administration and also on the
Board of Education and by the decisions they make. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

So tonight’s a VERY important board meeting…and here’s just <i>some</i> of the effects of what the board
will more than likely decide.</div>

I know that there are MANY other cons that I am
forgetting. This is a list of just some,
but ultimately, my heart is sad, because these decisions have taken the heart
of education out of the school and replaced them with dollar signs and tons of
animosity. Students and parents have
protested in front of the board and they have been cut off. Statements by administrators have been made
in the newspapers implying that they already had their decisions made before
listening to anyone. Things have been
hidden, Board members have threatened people, and it’s turned into a REAL
battle. It’s sad really. </div>

During our small group book studies at Church, Joel is
leading us through “The Good and Beautiful Community” by James Bryan Smith, and
this week there was a fabulous paragraph worded so well, yet made my heart break
for Dunlap in particular so hard. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<i><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; line-height: 115%;">The problem comes when the most
important consideration, the dominate desire and the main focus of a community
is its own success. Just as an
individual whose whole life is focused on meeting his or her own needs becomes
narcissistic, self-centered, ineffective and ultimately unhappy, so also
communities can become so focused on themselves that they lose their souls. When that happens, the larger vision, the one
that brought the community into existence, has been eclipsed, and the community
no longer exists to fulfill its original mission but simply to stay alive. This is often the first step toward spiritual
death and ultimately, the demise of the community. <b>(pg

*Opinion* Just within the first sentence, the dominate
desire and main focus of each individual on that board is personal success with
no consideration for the district as a whole.
I can see most of these elites using this seat on the board as a
stepping stone, not as a concrete place to serve. I personally know some people that worked at
piecing together parts of this community, and to see it crumble out of selfish
ambition and deceit is heart wrenching. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

What these kids see is the power of money; many of them see
it in their homes and now in their school.
They see politics at their finest.
Dunlap has already begun to move into a self-seeking community and this doesn't
help that. Most of the kids couldn't tell
you more than two people on the school board.
There’s no connection there. If
our superintendent came to a sporting event, the kids don’t really know what he
looks like. I do appreciate that these
kids see their teachers fighting for their jobs. A hand full of students, including our student council president have helped support them at board meetings and
such. </div>

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal">
It’s been a dream of mine to become a pro blogger, but
Nathan and I were talking yesterday about an acquaintance of ours that is a local
blogger and he/she has begun to act differently because of some success she/he
has had. Now, I have not experienced
this first hand, and I find this person very pleasant and I semi relate to and
kind of envy him/her in many ways.
Although, I could see how it is TOTALLY possible. Even on here, all I do is talk about myself,
my kid (almost plural), my job/side graphic stuff (almost as shameless
advertising), and well…everything about me and what I do/have done. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
So this is me blogging about how
I need to revaluate why I blog. HA (Click "Read More" to keep going. If you don't want to see my rant, scroll up and look at Ruthie again. It's ok...I do it all the time) </div>

<div class="MsoNormal">
There is a part that
is business. The graphics stuff has to
be posted because social media is really my only form of advertisement besides
happy clients and word-of-mouth. But I truly
think that the main reason why I blog is the hopes of finding someone out there
that can relate. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

Relate to my INCREDIBLE stack of dirty dishes, to my child
who most of the time eats in her diaper so as to lessen the amount of dirty
laundry that I don’t do as often as I should.
I find humor is the fact that I TOTALLY feel like a teenager married and
raising/producing babies when really I’m 27 and not a teenager at all! (The pause it took to type that age was embarrassing
b/c I forgot and then had to do the math.) I think I blog to verify to myself
that I am not a complete lunatic. So
really it’s a humbling experience. It
keeps me in check with reality…that I’m no more or less than anyone else. That I have normal problems like everyone else
out there, I just happen to publish mine to the world. And I know that people read this…I see the
number of page views, not too many comments, but I’m ok with that…</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">

So many of the blogs I follow, post pictures of their kids
happily sitting down doing their home school work, or doing craft projects, or baking. And yes, I can post those pictures (when I remember
to take them), but how about we have a HUMBLE LADY picture contest?! Yeah, I’m a mom/wife/girl and I’m slightly
ashamed yet totally willing to admit that i… **fill in the blank.**</div>

stereotypical things that would better my life.</li>
<li>Still wear a sweatshirt from 7th grade and I’m
closer to 30 than I want to admit. </li>
<li>I don’t want to tell you what I’ve had for dinner this week
in fear that you might judge my diet/laziness/unwillingness to use my mad
cooking skills.</li>

and my “not-so-proud” moments with you in efforts to remind you and myself that
I don’t have a CLUE what I’m doing most of the time in mother/womanhood, and I’m

<div class="MsoNormal">
I could have sworn this time it was a boy! My appetite is TOTALLY opposite, I've been crazing
meat and cheese and TONS of milk. I didn't
get sick like I did with Ruthie. I would
say this pregnancy was running smoother, so I just figured, MAN, it’s GOTTA be
a boy. </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Please don’t get me wrong!
We are totally fine with it being a girl. I kind of liked the girl name we had picked
out better then the boy name anyway.
Funny though…we went to the Chinese buffet after the appointment this
afternoon, and Nathan said, “So do you think you’ll be ok with an odd number if #3 is a girl?”</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
I finally buckled and said, “Yes, probably.” I just really don’t want to have an odd
number of kids…but 4 weddings is A LOT of $$!
</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Her name will be Tessa Lee.
Tessa is a derivative of Theresa which means, “Summer,” or “Harvester,”
and Lee or Leigh means “field.” So, in
essence, she is the “Harvester of the Field!”
I think this is a WONDERFUL spiritual meaning and the fact that she will
be born in the middle of July I just feel fits perfectly. Criticize me if you will, but we’re not
changing it! BOO YA! </div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
Ultimately, we are elated that this pregnancy is running
smoothly. The doc is happy with progress
and we are happy with the new addition.
It’s still weird to think of a family of four! God is so good. </div>

Ruthie’s gonna be the best big sister! I just know it.</div>

Family pictures are probably not the priority they need to be in our house, but I make an effort to keep them fairly updated especially since I am surrounded by wonderful photographic resources as friends. Therefore, I have no excuse to not have some good family portraits. <br />
<br />
My (VERY) long time friend, Courtney, was planning on taking the Davis Family Pictures, but through some schedule debacles, it turned into the Weenie Wineinger Family Picture session. This worked out SUPER well actually, because Ruthie had just turned one so it was a two-fr! If you remember, Court also took Ruthie's newborn shots. Now, I understand that a photo becomes outdated as soon as you take the picture, but now I am struggling with what to order with a new addition being added to pictures in a few months. (We are gonna be a family of 4... WHAT!?!) <br />
<br />
Oh no worries...I will still order TONS, but now I guess I need more pictures taken...<br />
<br />
Here are the pictures from <a href="http://therollingersnest.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Courtney</a>! Our belly growing just happens to be a week apart from each other as well. Make sure to check out her <a href="http://www.courtneymariephotography.com/" target="_blank">photography</a> & her <a href="http://www.courtneymariephotography.com/hands-of-love.html" target="_blank">Hands of Love Project</a>! Both are stunning!<br />
<br />
Also, just to preface these (prefacing is another one of my spiritual gifts), I planned on picking out 3 or 4, but I just kept downloading....I'm sorry. Wait...no I'm not.<br />
